Female AR and GL Accountant
Location: Amman, Jordan
Department: Finance
About the Role
The AR and GL Accountant is responsible for handling daily Accounts Receivable transactions, following up on customer accounts and collections, applying the company’s credit policy, and supporting General Ledger operations and month-end closing activities as part of the Finance team.
Key Responsibilities
• Handle daily Accounts Receivable transactions accurately and efficiently.
• Issue customer statements of accounts and manage customer account reconciliations.
• Monitor customer aging, outstanding balances, and accumulated debts, and follow up on collections.
• Prepare and follow up on Accounts Receivable reports and collection activities.
• Issue customer credit notes and account confirmation letters in accordance with Finance policies.
• Apply the company’s credit policy and follow up on compliance with agreed credit terms and limits.
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date customer account records.
• Post approved journal entries to the General Ledger with accurate account, department, and cost center coding.
• Assist with General Ledger account reconciliations and investigate discrepancies.
• Support month-end and year-end closing activities and ensure all required supporting schedules are complete.
• Maintain organized documentation of journal vouchers and supporting records for audit purposes.
• Support the Finance team in ensuring accurate and timely financial reporting.
Qualifications & Requirements
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or a related field.
• 0–2 years of relevant experience.
• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel is a must.
• Strong analytical and reporting skills.
• Basic knowledge of General Ledger accounting principles and month-end closing procedures is an advantage.
• Good understanding of Accounts Receivable and reconciliation processes.
